Yet another easy printable and usable mask.
Why will I not design this mask for
...显示更多 printing in PLA or PETG?!
I get quite a few requests to convert this design for printing in PLA or PETG. Sorry, but I am not going to do that, and this is why:
In my experience, PLA and PETG are TOO DANGEROUS to put on your face. If a PLA or PETG mask cracks, especially when printed as a light weight/thin wall, it will cut your face like a knife. It may not be happen on the first day, but it will happen one day, maybe while you are talking, and it will be sudden. Thin walled PLA and PETG will fatigue much faster than TPU, being washed, dragged and pulled in daily use. Maybe something hits your mask while you are wearing it, and it splits or shatters.
That is why I don't want to convert this design to use PLA/PETG. It is for your safety.
Print and use it at your own risk.
Uses up to 2mm thickness Ply Filter. Mask weight 21gram.
I made this for the community, for the time being the shortage of surgical mask, due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus.
Good Luck everyone and my loves.
STL size based on 58cm head circumference. (Refer to photo of T800 for measurement)
Just scale in slicer on XY by 1/58*[your figure] .

Other Tools:
-Needle and thread
-Filter ply
-Hair dryer or heatgun.
Notes:
-Use any filter you trust. Personally I use 2ply of 3M Filtrete™ (Air Cleaning Filter - Ultra Allergen Reduction)
-May try odourless anti-bacterial wet wipes as filter. (dry. dehydrated before cut & use)
-Use a hair dryer to change the sizing slightly. Annealing can sink the size of cap a little bit.(that is the beauty of flexible material.)
FAQ and Tips:
-Level the bed well. Avoid elephant foot or you won't get the needle holes.
-Avoid moisturized filament which result in porous structure.
-Rivet needs raft support.
-Trim or heatgun the mask for fitting.
-Add more Rivet to air tight.
-Use multi strand thread to fill the needle holes.
